FAT TUESDAY!

(update) leading infidel in the world.....

February 10,2006

Hello,

I am going to give this my best shot .Question: would the Washington press corps rather go hunting with Dick Cheney or go for a ride with Teddy Kennedy? Critics immediately dismissed the shooting as a stunt to push the Bush Administrations new social security reform plan ie…shooting seniors and lawyers. For the rest of us not immersed in the belt way gotcha game new housing starts hit a 33 year high, but at the same time unsold home inventory hit an all time high. The new chairman of the FED Ben Bernanke sounded amazingly direct and coherent and top secret tapes of Saddam reveal plans of a WMD attack on the USA.

Other news points to a very robust economy for the first quarter and while the mainstream media has been stuck on the hysteria over Fud Gate a company form the UAE was awarded a contract to manage several US ports? I am still not sure weather this port controversy is real or imagined, weather it is a matter or national security or a political faux pas or are there other agendas at work such as fear of loss of union jobs .My skepticism araises from the simple fact that many of those that oppose this deal have absolutely zero credibility on national security and seem to be motivated by racism .The same people so willing to vote against the patriot act and give drivers licenses to illegal aliens have now discovered national security? In the past the UAE was good enough during the Clinton era to sell 60 jets fighters, many ports and air ports in the US are currently run by foreign companies and let’s face it is not like the Port Authority did that great of a job on 9/11 anyway.

Looking for a predictable pattern of income from the stock portfolio you are holding?

A covered call is simply selling an option to someone to buy a stock you own at a certain price on a given day. Writing covered calls involves selling call options against your stock holdings. By doing so, investors can gain consistent monthly income from their stock portfolios without selling the stocks regardless of market direction. The covered call technique has nothing do with the risky practice of speculating or trading the markets with options - in fact, it is the complete opposite. Covered call writing is often considered “buying a stock with insurance” and by limiting the amount of uncertainty and investor lowers his or her risk of holding a particular stock. Besides earning income with out selling shares, if you had a stock in your portfolio that you wouldn't mind selling for a certain price, you could then write a call against it. By writing such a call, you would receive the amount of an option premium from the buyer of your option contract plus the predetermined strike price of the stock should it reach the strike price.

The covered call is a strategy in which an investor writes a call option contract while at the same time owning an equivalent number of shares of the underlying stock. If this stock is purchased simultaneously with writing the call contract, the strategy is commonly referred to as a "buy-write." If the shares are already held from a previous purchase, it is commonly referred to an "overwrite." In either case, the stock is generally held in the same brokerage account from which the investor writes the call, and fully collateralizes, or "covers," the obligation conveyed by writing a call option contract. This strategy is the most basic and most widely used strategy combining the flexibility of listed options with stock ownership. (888options.com)

Though the covered call can be utilized in any market condition, it is most often employed when the investor, while bullish on the underlying stock, feels that its market value will experience little range over the lifetime of the call contract. The investor desires to either generate additional income (over dividends) from shares of the underlying stock, and/or provide a limited amount of protection against a decline in underlying stock value. (888options.com)

While this strategy can offer limited protection from a decline in price of the underlying stock and limited profit participation with an increase in stock price, it generates income because the investor keeps the premium received from writing the call. At the same time, the investor can appreciate all benefits of underlying stock ownership, such as dividends and voting rights, unless he is assigned an exercise notice on the written call and is obligated to sell his shares. The covered call is widely regarded as a conservative strategy because it decreases the risk of stock ownership. (888options.com)

The Thought Police : Jingjing and Chacha

meet jingjing and chacha they are watching you to determine the suitability of this website for your viewing....

But for our purposes I am going to be using Jingjing and Chacha to determine the suitability of your portfolio postions. What is suitability?

Suitability:
When your broker recommends that you buy or sell a particular security, your broker must have a reasonable basis for believing that the recommendation is suitable for you. In making this assessment, your broker must consider your risk tolerance, other security holdings, financial situation (income and net worth), financial needs, and investment objectives.(SEC.GOV)

Suitability should be one of the most significant factors in your investment decisions. As you all know I practice what is called a customer centered philosophy of investing ,treating you as a unique individual ,no cookie cutter financil planning here. You need to make investment decisions based first and formost on what best suits you as a unique individual, not what best suits the firm, broker or your peers .

I am going to give this my best shot

After all we have been told by the main stream media that that Bush is the terrorist so whats the big deal?On the other hand some who suport the deal like former President Carter dont seem to have much credibility either and probably hurt the UAE more than all the back lash against the deal put together.

Three years ago, the Internet was virtually unknown in Iraq. Today, Baghdad has dozens of Internet cafes like ShreifiNet, which consists of three sparely decorated rooms with a total of 34 computers and a satellite dish on the roof. Most of the cafes also transmit wireless services to home Internet users in the surrounding area for a monthly fee; in parts of central Baghdad there are about 20 overlapping wireless networks. SAN FRANCISCO — Manuel Villanueva realizes he has been getting a pretty good deal since he signed up for Netflix Inc.'s (NFLX) online DVD rental service 2 1/2 years ago, but he still feels shortchanged. That's because the $17.99 monthly fee that he pays to rent up to three DVDs at a time would amount to an even bigger bargain if the company didn't penalize him for returning his movies so quickly.Netflix typically sends about 13 movies per month to Villanueva's home in Warren, Mich. -- down from the 18 to 22 DVDs he once received before the company's automated system identified him as a heavy renter and began delaying his shipments to protect its profits. Bush should have known better. In a capital city that is full of shameless political scams, ethanol is perhaps the most egregious. There has probably never been a specific topic around which so much disinformation is spread. Ethanol lowers our reliance on fossil fuels! Ethanol helps clean the environment! Ethanol will save the family farm! (Kevin Hasset Bloomberg)

A recent careful study by Cornell University's David Pimentel and the University of California at Berkeley's Tad Patzek added up all the energy consumption that goes into ethanol production. They took account of the energy it takes to build and run tractors. They added in the energy embodied in the other inputs and irrigation. They parsed out how much is used at the ethanol plant. Putting it all together, they found that it takes 29 percent more energy to make ethanol from corn than is contained in the ethanol itself. (Kevin Hasset Bloomberg)

what kind of clients do I take?

Investors come in two forms; those looking to build wealth, portfolio builders and those looking to manage wealth they have already created, portfolio managers. Most clients fit into one or the other of these categories and at certain times in ones life under certain situations an investor could find that they have moved from one category to another. My job is to determine what category works best for you as an investor and what are the proper steps we need to take in order to establish and follow up on an investment plan.

February 7, 2006 -- WALL Street was certain there were going to be at least 250,000 new jobs created in January. But the folks in the investment community were also "whispering" — like they knew a secret — as loudly as they could that the number could be a "real blowout." One after another, the stooges visited CNBC last Thursday to let everyone in on this not-so-secret secret. Alas, the employment figure released last Friday wasn't a blowout, and it wasn't even nearly as good as the highly paid experts who ply their secrets to investors thought. As I suspected (and wrote in a number of previous columns), the number stunk. (NEW YORK POST)

Hello,

Don’t sweat a war with Iran the real threat to investors is the super bowl indicator.

Ok you have heard this over and over, if an old AFL team wins the super bowl ie.. Pittsburg, the market does not do too well, well never fear the Stealers were originally an national football league team that was moved to the AFC in 1970 when the leagues merged. And let’s face it with all the expansion teams since the original AFL, NFL merger the super bowl indicator may go the way of the ticket tape.

Recently the US Senate wanted to have hearings on weather the oil industry is profiteering from the current unrest in the mid east. The oil industry gave the senate the cold shoulder. Perhaps the senate should allow more domestic drilling and other energy source development so the oil companies would have something to spend their money on.

I have to agree with Jim Cramer on this one between Iran going nuclear ,lack on new oil discoveries and OPEC looking maxed out and I would add a underinvestment in energy infrastructure ,I am not really sure that three days of warmer weather are really all that meaningful in the total long term energy picture.

It is really worth going to war over a cartoon? Many seem to think so, seems the recent controversy over a Danish Cartoon depicting Mohamed in an unflattering light ,is now being duplicated all over Europe ,with many European News Papers posting similar style cartoons provoking outrage in the Muslim community and threats of violence from various terrorist groups. Mind you cartoons have come under fire before but I don’t recall anyone taking hostages.

Here we go again…in the short run if GM cuts the dividend it will save them some cash ,but what I worry about is this savings may be used to mask some of the hard choices the company needs to make in order to make it self a viable company again.

On another note I continue to hear about how the “Bush administration is using domestic spying”, is anyone asking why are so many people in the USA talking to members of Al-Quada, … hummm I don’t know but I would think that might be important.. As for the government invading your privacy, most of us would be lucky if we were so important that anyone would really care about our mostly uninspiring life’s. Besides if you have ever filled out a TAX form and I know some of you have the IRS knows more about you than you do about your self.

Finally don’t forget you’re IRA’s ,contributions are $4000 for 2005 and $4500 for those under saved baby boomers 50 or older ,remember the only people who can depend on the government for their retirement income are men serving life sentences in prison for murder.

call me today for the easy IRA Kit 1(888)599-1188

If you are single and your modified adjusted gross income is below $50,000, you can sock away $4,000 in a traditional IRA. If you happen to be 50 or older, you may add $500 under the catch-up provision. In order to receive the full deduction, your modified adjusted gross income must be below $70,000, if you are married and filing jointly. If you earned more than these amounts, you may still be able to contribute and receive a partial deduction, but you should consult with your accountant.

the income limits for ROTH IRA's are much higher, $95,000 or less for single taxpayers and $150,000 or less for married people filing jointly. The great thing about the Roth IRA is that growth is tax free! You must leave the money in past age 59½; however, you do not have to take withdrawals and are not forced to do so at age 70½.

Cartoon Wars

It is really worth going to war over a cartoon? Many seem to think so, seems the recent controversy over a Danish Cartoon depicting Mohamed in an unflattering light ,is now being duplicated all over Europe ,with many European News Papers posting similar style cartoons provoking outrage in the Muslim community and threats of violence from various terrorist groups. Mind you bad taste cartoons have come under fire before and this is nothing new, but I don’t recall anyone taking hostages?

Didn’t notice Mayor Giuliani threatening to take hostages or murder anyone when the Brooklyn Museum held an exhibit featuring the Virgin bathed in urine….must have missed that ….perhaps the Muslim community should support more responsible spokes persons and make an effort to distance themselves from these nihilistic madmen that are an insult to Islam as well as the rest of humanity. If these Jihadist nut jobs don’t speak for Islam ,Muslims must renounce them and tell them to shut up ,if you don’t
however well meaning ,Islam will be doomed to feel the brunt of prejudice , hostility and harm brought on it by these Waco’s.
